Job Summary: The Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing project activities to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Define project objectives, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise project teams, including site managers, subcontractors, and other personnel. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Budget and Cost Management: Create and manage project budgets. Monitor expenses, manage change orders, and ensure cost control to keep the project within financial parameters.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of project milestones. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that construction work meets the project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project success. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and address challenges as they arise.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Facilitate clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and correspondence. Ensure proper record-keeping and compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process. Proactively seek solutions to keep the project on track.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety on-site.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: PMP, CCM, or other relevant certifications preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
