Environmental Manager

$127,000 - $133,000 annually
Responsibilities:
- Manage an environmental management system across the plant operations
- Evaluate environmental compliance and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions
- Ensure all environmental sampling, monitoring, reporting, permit renewals, and record retention is successfully completed.
- Interface as the company advocate for environmental issues with the regulatory agencies that have jurisdiction for the plant.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations. Conduct required inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work with the plant?s team and when required with consultants to ensure environmental regulatory compliance in the facility.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Investigate and resolve potential compliance issues, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, regulatory agencies, and/or the public.
- Conduct regular environmental inspections by walking and driving around the facility.
- Assist in planning and implementation of projects to meet environmental requirements.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures.
- Hazards and Operability:
- Provide technical assistance and recommendations to management on new projects and current facility upgrades to ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements, and promote timely permitting efforts.
- Train plant personnel and contractors on relevant environmental issues and regulations, including related company policies
- Regularly evaluate company environmental compliance and effectively communicate issues of non-compliance to management.
- Administration of the plant's permits and fees associated.
- Manage the plant?s environmental budget
- Input work notifications and purchase requisitions into SAP.
- Support EHS audits and KPI tracking through data analysis to ensure continuous improvement and promote workplace safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Attend required meetings and training events to maintain regulatory knowledge for continuous professional development.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor?s degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental, scientific, or engineering.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of environmental, air, and water experience.
- Mining, aggregate, refinery, power plants, petrochemical, cement, or similar industries.
- Working knowledge of all environmental laws and regulations affecting aggregate production and cement manufacturing.
Other Information:
- Location of time, Environmental Condition, Plant 70% of the time, Extreme heat, cold, noise, vibrations, dust.
- Office 30% of time, Long periods of sitting.
- Lifting - Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling). Medium Up to 50 lbs
- Carrying - Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder. Medium Up to 50 lbs
Salary Range: $ 127,000 to 133,000 DOE
