As a Cement Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and the environmental performance of our Tehachapi plant operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Sustainable Practices: Manage and oversee the development and implementation of sustainable practices across the plant operations, ensuring all environmental programs are implemented effectively and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Evaluate and ensure continuous environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Implement corrective actions as necessary to resolve compliance issues, and conduct regular environmental inspections of the facility.
- Environmental Sampling and Monitoring: Oversee all environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting activities, ensuring timely completion of permit renewals, record retention, and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary company liaison with regulatory agencies. Advocate for the company's environmental interests, ensuring effective communication and addressing environmental concerns or violations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure plant safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations are adhered to by conducting required safety inspections and promoting a safe working environment.
- Project and Budget Management: Plan and implement projects to meet environmental requirements, manage resources effectively, and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training to plant personnel and contractors on relevant environmental issues, regulations, and company policies, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Environmental Permit Administration: Administer the plant's environmental permits, including managing associated fees and ensuring all necessary renewals are completed on time.
- Continuous Improvement: Support EHS audits and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through data analysis to drive continuous improvement and ensure workplace safety.
