Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Out hospital offers high quality, transparent care for our patients and clients. As an assistant, you'll serve as a critical bridge for patient care and client communication.
Job Duties include:
- Assist doctors and techs with all aspects of patient care and handling
- Maintain hospital standards and cleanliness
- Client communication
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and provide accurate information to staff and clients
- Demonstrates warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure
- Assess urgency and severity of cases, effectively prioritizing incoming requests based on criticality
- Ability to frequently lift, move and handle patients.
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, lift, push, pull, etc..
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, lift, push, pull, etc..
- Complete diagnostic procedures as needed
Required Skills:
- Compassion for animals and people
- Eagerness to learn
- Strong communication (written and oral) and organization skills
- Flexibility to work in shifts that may include evening, weekend and holidays.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and familiarity with basic office software
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Critical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
- Financial representation- Creating and discussing treatment plans
The Ideal candidate:
- Experienced working with animals
- Eager to learn and grow skill set
- Veterinary assistant experience preferred, not required
