Definition : Under general supervision performs routine patient care, vocational nursing care and / or rehabilitative treatment services to clients and inmates in adult correctional facilities or field services programs such as the Mobile Crisis Response Unit. May provide leadership to assigned staff. Performs related duties as assigned.

Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker I :
29.54 - $35.91 Hourly / $2,363.20 - $2,872.80 Biweekly
Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker II :
32.61 - $39.64 Hourly / $2,608.80 - $3,171.20 Biweekly
Examples of Duties
- Provides effective client / inmate care and nursing duties and, as required, administers medications, monitors and charts vital signs; notifies supervisor and / or physicians of any changes in client / inmate conditions.
- May provide on-scene crisis intervention and referrals when community members are undergoing a mental health crisis.
- May perform duties as treatment nurse, including assessing, cleansing and dressing wounds, skin tears, abrasions, lesions, etc., and implementing appropriate treatments.
- Prescreens inmate requests to be seen by a physician / physician assistant following established protocol.

Education, Experience & Licenses
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be :
Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker I : Requires no experience.
Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker II : Two (2) years of LVN / LPT experience required.

The department currently has multiple vacancies.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for an Institutional Licensed Crisis Health Worker I / II, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list.
Testing Dates :
January 15 - 17, 2025. Testing will be provided via email.
Tentative Interview Date :
1st & 2nd Combo : Monday, January 27, 2025 from 2 : 00pm to 4 : 00pm.
New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
