Plant Operations & Production:
- Oversee the daily production of ready-mix concrete, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Monitor plant performance, adjust production schedules, and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Work with the maintenance department to ensure minimal downtime.
- Optimize production costs while maintaining high product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with quality control personnel to maintain product consistency and meet mix design specifications.
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement safety programs, including employee training and hazard assessments.
- Maintain a clean and organized plant environment that promotes safe working conditions.
- Develops a positive safety culture by setting expectations, coaching behavior, and adhering to all company safety policies and practices.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate plant personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Schedule work shifts, monitor employee performance, and provide necessary coaching.
- Address employee concerns and maintain a positive work environment.
- Manage raw material inventory, including cement, aggregates, admixtures, and fuel.
- Control operational costs and prepare budgets to improve profitability.
Customer Service & Coordination:
- Work closely with sales teams, dispatch, and customers to meet delivery expectations.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and quality concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production data and plant performance.

Role Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Concrete Industry Management preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in ready mix production, plant operations or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
- Three (3) years’ experience managing staff.
- Must demonstrate ability to effectively lead, manage, coach, mentor and develop staff.
- Must demonstrate ability to formulate and implement new or improved processes, procedures or tactics.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Must demonstrate the ability to originate and drive operation initiatives, changes and enhancements.
- Must develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally with diverse groups of people.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to speak, write and understand English at a proficient and understandable level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching processes, and quality control principles.
- Must demonstrate the ability work well under pressure, remaining composed and professional. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and time management practices.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have advanced knowledge of computer software programs including Word, Excel and Outlook; familiar with department specific programs such as Oracle, JD Edwards and JWS.
- Must possess a valid Driver License and must maintain an acceptable driving record when driving is a job requirement.
Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment
Equipment Used:
- General office equipment, telephone, automobile, personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection) when visiting plants.
- Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working on the computer or attending meetings. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, steep slopes, and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. May require climbing of stairs.
- Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Demands of meeting tight deadlines. Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time.
