Job Summary
Teijin Automotive Technologies, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our molding facility in Huntington, Indiana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mold change teams, ensuring efficient, timely, and safe mold changes in alignment with production schedules.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of process technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Conduct process studies and implement improvements to optimize cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance overall process efficiency.
- Analyze scrap data, identify root causes of scrap, and develop and implement strategies to reduce scrap rates and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting molding process issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, promoting a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to support new product launches and process changes.
- Prepare and present reports on process performance, scrap reduction efforts, and other key metrics to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a molding or manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams, including process technicians.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process optimization, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge of mold design, mold change procedures, and injection/compression molding processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Experience with automotive quality standards and practices, such as IATF 16949.
- Familiarity with CAD software and experience in process simulation.
