We are looking for a 2nd Shift Supervisor for our facility in Seguin, TX
Essential Job Functions
Includes the following.
Support continuous improvement activities by learning, teaching and being an integral part of the implementation of :
5s Help Chain Standardized Work Kaizen Problem Solving Change Over Reduction Lean Material Systems Level Production Follow up with Team Leaders on all activities the Team Leaders are responsible for. Review shop floor with previous shift supervisor before start of shift and either accept as is or require previous shift supervisor to correct any issues. Concentration is to be on areas that are not covered by team leaders on oncoming shift. Responsible for environmental, health and safety issues in assigned department. Schedule, direct, train and motivate employees within assigned area. Maintain acceptable levels of quality, production efficiency and reduction of scrap. Compile and maintain all required department records. Evaluate and maintain employee performance levels. Troubleshoot and resolve production and equipment problems to maintain continuous improvement. Coordinate the resolution of employee issues. Insure good communication and cooperation within department and with other departments. Communicate and enforce company policies and rules. Supports IATF16949 and ISO14001 initiative. Responsible to participate in continually improving processes to achieve safety / quality / environmental objectives. Participate, comply, and support the environmental, health and safety system requirements. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Language Skills- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills- Competence in personal computer Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, e-mail) and familiar with other database related software.
Experience
Three (3) to four (4) years supervision experience in a manufacturing area is preferred.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent, BS Degree in leadership and supervision desired.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Will be required to work within the plant - factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass, and heat. Must adhere to PPE requirements as defined in the safety manual when in the manufacturing area.
