Field and Irrigation Foreman

Position Overview: This position is responsible for overseeing field operations that include but are not limited to land preparation, planting, cultivation, irrigation, harvesting and other responsibilities to grow and harvest annual and permanent crops. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining records, training employees, and managing assigned employees daily.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
• Train new or current employees in operational procedures to ensure they perform at company standards.
• Prepare reports to owners or staff as needed on field operations, equipment needs, repairs, disposals, updates, and any regulatory reports.
• Collect, review, and approve employee timecards.
• Confer with personnel, such as management, shop facility coordinator, safety coordinator, or human resources to coordinate work activities, resolve employee grievances, or identify and review resource needs.
• Monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
• Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare injury reports.
• Drives a company-provided vehicle to oversee company operations during work hours.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license
• One year of experience in field operations and maintenance and repairs of irrigation systems
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Time management & organizational skills
• Bilingual

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management
• Competency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

This person shall be the face of Teixeira and Sons, LLC when dealing face to face or communicating in any method and shall represent Teixeira and Sons, LLC in a professional and respectful manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
