Objective: The Prepress Specialist is responsible for overseeing the effective digital imposition of graphic files, ensuring the production of accurate materials essential for flexographic printing and specialty packaging production. Degree in graphic arts or related field or Completion of Electronic Prepress or other Communications technology program or equivalent experience in Prepress.

Equipment/Tools: The role involves working with advanced equipment including, but not limited to, AGFA Plate Imagesetter, DuPont Cyrel Fast Flexographic Plate System, MAC & PC Workstations, and various software.
Physical Demands: The role requires regular physical activities including sitting for long periods, standing, walking, reaching, and the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds. Good vision for detail and color and communication abilities are essential.

Essential Functions:
- Oversee the production of press-ready, color-accurate materials using graphic software and ensuring electronic files are built, manipulated, and checked according to job specifications.
- Review and approve job specifications to ensure the production of accurate final files and fonts.
- Supervise the use of software for building, manipulating, and correcting packaging graphics according to required specifications.
- Ensure the effective utilization of content management tools for retrieving and referencing images and files.
- Oversee the imaging of digital lithography printing plates and manufacturing of flexography coating plates.
- Implement and review updates necessary to maintain quality and production standards.
- Train and develop department personnel on proper processes and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement and upskilling.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain inventory of plates and processing supplies.
- Lead the team in proactive troubleshooting, analysis, and conceptualizing outcomes to resolve prepress issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team while also capable of working independently.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation and a sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of geometry and math to calculate angles and lines of multi-sided shapes.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Advanced color identification and visual acuity.
- Expertise in operating and maintaining prepress equipment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and digital graphic imposition software.
- Familiarity with multiple file types and conversion issues between Mac and Windows platforms.
- Sound knowledge of color theory & prepress workflows.
- Artistic ability to enhance the quality of print and packaging designs.

- Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Additional Overtime may be required based on workflow
- Hours worked over 40 hours per week will be compensated at time and a half
