GIS Developer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geographic information systems and a passion for developing innovative solutions that leverage spatial data. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain GIS applications that enhance our IT infrastructure and support various projects.

Duties

• Develop and maintain GIS applications using programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to facilitate data exchange between systems.
• Utilize version control systems like GitHub and SVN for code management and collaboration.
• Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and debugging.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in GIS and quantum engineering.

Experience

• Proven experience in GIS development with a strong understanding of spatial data structures.
• At least 3 years experience in both developing new Pyton and JavaScript code and modifying existing Python and JavaScript code.
• Current knowledge and at lease 3 years of experience working with Oracle Databases and Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Current knowledge and at lease 3 years of experiencw working with ESRI web services, ArcGIS Server, ESRI ArcGIS Pro, and ESRI ArcGIS API for Python.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• This position does require a SECRET Clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44.64 - $53.76 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
