SAP FICO proficiency; SAP S/4HANA experience
PMP or equivalent project management certification
Position Overview:
A confidential client is seeking a skilled SAP FICO Project Manager with a strong background in US accounting principles, tax regulations, and administration, along with GAAP expertise. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and optimize financial processes. This role combines project management capabilities with in-depth knowledge of financial operations and regulatory standards, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
o Lead end-to-end SAP FICO project lifecycles including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
o Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables while allocating resources effectively.
o Manage stakeholder communications and expectations throughout project phases.
o Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
2. SAP FICO Implementation:
o Conduct detailed requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business needs.
o Configure and customize SAP FI and CO modules to meet organizational f inancial processes.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD).
o Perform system testing and validation to ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
3. Accounting and Tax Compliance:
o Provide expertise in US accounting standards, including GAAP, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
o Lead initiatives for sales tax, property tax, and other tax-related compliance activities.
o Develop and implement processes to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
4. Training and Support:
o Mentor and train finance and accounting staff on SAP FICO functionalities and best practices.
o Develop user documentation, processes, and training materials.
o Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot issues related to SAP FICO modules post-implementation.
5. Continuous Improvement:
o Identify and recommend enhancements to existing SAP FICO processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
o Stay current on industry trends and advancements in SAP technology and US accounting regulations.
o Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the f inance function.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent
• Proven experience (12 years) in managing SAP FICO implementation projects witha focus on US accounting and tax compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and its application in financial operations.
• Strong understanding of US tax regulations and their impact on financial reporting.
• Excellent project management skills, with certification (e.g., PMP)
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in SAP FICO modules and related financial applications; expertise in SAP S/4HANA.
