Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior z/OS Transaction and Network System Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems.
Experience working with a managed service provider is essential.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior z/OS Transaction and Network System Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems.
Experience working with a managed service provider is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, maintain, and optimize IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot transaction and network systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with managed service providers to ensure seamless integration and support of z/OS systems.
- Develop and implement system enhancements and optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Perform system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and compliance.
- Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field--preferred but not required. Okay with experience over degrees.
- 5 years of experience in z/OS transaction and network system engineering.
- Proficiency in IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems.
- Experience working with managed service providers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Certifications in relevant technologies are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of security best practices for z/OS systems.
- Familiarity with cloud integration and hybrid environments.
