Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Business Data Analyst to lead data quality initiatives and improvement tracking for our organization’s source system assessments. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the data produced is accurate, reliable, and suitable for decision-making and reporting. You will collaborate closely with Data Custodians, Data Stewards, Data Owners, and key stakeholders across multiple divisions (Developmental Services, Clinical and Quality Management, and Administration) to identify data quality issues and implement solutions. This includes defining business rules, standardizing data quality practices, and developing dashboards to monitor data health and track improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Quality Assessment & Analysis
- Review and analyze multiple source systems to identify issues related to data validity, reliability, and consistency.
- Conduct interviews and focus sessions with subject matter experts to gather insights into data challenges.
- Formulate recommendations and track improvement initiatives for data quality.
- Business Rule Definition & Governance
- Define and enforce business rules to standardize data quality practices and ensure alignment with data governance standards.
- Collaborate with Data Stewards and Data Owners to develop consistent data validation frameworks.
- Document processes and guidelines for ongoing adherence to data governance policies.
- Dashboard Development & Reporting
- Design and maintain data quality dashboards (using Power BI, Power Query, or similar tools) that provide visibility into data health.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and highlight areas needing improvement.
- Produce clear, concise reports for stakeholders to track progress and assess the impact of data quality initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, management, and program personnel to communicate complex data quality issues.
- Coordinate with divisional teams (Developmental Services, Clinical and Quality Management, Administration) to ensure alignment of data quality goals.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance data quality awareness organization-wide.
- Continuous Improvement & Tracking
- Identify potential areas for enhancing data validation, reliability, and quality control measures.
- Create and maintain monitoring systems to measure the effectiveness of data quality improvements over time.
- Ensure continuous progress and sustainability of initiatives by regularly reviewing and updating strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in business analysis and data quality management, focusing on measuring data integrity and tracking improvements.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and familiarity with data warehouse concepts and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data quality challenges and track improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience defining and enforcing business rules, creating data quality dashboards, and monitoring data health.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices, including structured and unstructured data management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise data management or data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
- Knowledge of statistical methods or data validation approaches to measure data quality.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics tools or languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Prior experience working in healthcare, developmental services, or related fields is advantageous.
