What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Tek Stainless Piping Products, Inc.?
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for warehouse receiving, packing, shipping, inventory, and other various warehouse functions. While most of the time will be devoted to these primary functions, there may be exceptions that require cross-training on other operations throughout the facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the
following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities
expected of the Warehouse Associate. These duties are not exhaustive and are
subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Demonstrate understanding of company objectives and operating standards.
- Ensure customer orders are completed in an efficient manner while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure delivery schedules are met.
- Assist all operations of shipping, receiving, warehouse and transportation.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.
- Safely drive forklift to pull and move materials within the warehouse.
- Ensure the proper disposition of all inbound/outbound freight.
- Maintain facility, vehicles, and equipment.
- Keep a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all TEK’s safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Adhere to all TEK’s handbook policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to measure using different tools, e.g. micrometer & calipers
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to read and transfer data accurately
- Strong work ethic; self-motivated
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, suppliers, and management
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of distribution warehouse experience

Physical demands:

- Close vision (clear vision at 36 inches or less)
Weights to be lifted:
- Up to 40 pounds—Less than ½ of the time
- Up to 75 pounds—Less than ¼ of the time
If an object weighs more than 40 pounds, you are expected to use the aid of a mechanical device or assistance from a co-worker.
Weights to be pushed/pulled:
- Between 25-50 pounds—Over ¾ of the time
