What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Mobile Device Tester position at Tek Support?
We are seeking a Field Mobile Tester to execute interoperability test plans (FIT) and validate wireless device performance in real-world and lab environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with mobile technologies (CDMA, LTE, 5G NR) and tools such as QXDM, QCAT, and post-processing software. This role includes travel and requires strong troubleshooting and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute field and lab testing on mobile devices across wireless voice and data networks.
- Conduct sanity, stability, functionality, stress, and feature testing.
- Perform interoperability testing and simulate real-world user scenarios.
- Troubleshoot issues in hardware, software, and embedded systems.
- Use tools such as QXDM, QCAT, QPST for log collection and analysis.
- Prepare and submit detailed engineering reports and test results.
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate findings effectively.
- Travel to various test locations (30% travel required).
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of technical or telecommunications engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with mobile network technologies: CDMA, EVDO, LTE, 5G NR (preferred).
- Familiarity with Qualcomm tools: QXDM, QCAT, QPST.
- Experience with post-processing tools: Actix, WindCatcher, XCAL/XCAP-M.
- Prior experience with mobile device or field testing highly preferred.
- Comfortable with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Exposure to Spirent or Metrico tools like NOMAD, MUSE, or Datum is a plus.
- Experience with FIT test plans for Verizon, US Cellular, or other US NMOs is a bonus.
