General Description:
The BI SQL Developer will collaborate with technical and business individuals to create data objects for reporting, analytical and operational dashboards. Additionally, the candidate will work to provide documentation artifacts to assist business and technical users on the solutions developed. Working in an Agile environment, develop best in class business intelligence solutions and contribute to a Center of Excellence operating model.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The main responsibility of the BI SQL developer is the development of SQL database objects for a wide variety of applications and business uses. Build scalable and reusable data architecture that can be scaled based on their organization’s needs.
- Write SQL queries to store, transform, sort, and retrieve data
- This is a highly technical role that incorporates aspects of computer programming, software engineering, and data architecture and management.
- The SQL developer is also responsible for operational maintenance conducting troubleshooting on databases and applications.
- Accurately estimates the level of effort required to complete product features.
- Must possess a high sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ensures agreement and transparency of business requirements and delivery team commitments.
- Anticipates potential impediments and blocking issues and pro-actively attempts to prevent their occurrence
Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Must have 8 years experience developing in Oracle, SQL Server and/or Snowflake
- 5 years of experience with SSIS, Informatica or Metallion
- Must have experience developing stored procedures and ETL for warehouse
- BS degree in computer sciences, software design, engineering, information systems, related field or comparable years of experience.
- Understanding of Tableau and WebFocus a huge plus.
Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:
- Must have experience with software used for developing and maintaining systems to store, organize, and access data
- Strong understanding in researching technical issues.
- Proven ability to communicate and present to external and internal clients and their representatives.
- Should have strong SQL / Transact-SQL query skills.
- Perform code inspections and refactor code to meet standards.
- Communicate effectively within both the product delivery and the internal development teams.
- Should have a good understanding of design patterns and application development processes and practices with a focus on reusability.
