Job Summary:
The Onboarding Coach is directly responsible for all onboarding, training, and coaching activities for new recruiters in field offices. The focus of this position is to provide a positive integration experience for all new recruiters for the first 13 weeks of their tenure (or beyond 13 weeks if a new hire does not pass the initial training period). With the support of the Regional Onboarding Team Lead, the Onboarding Coach collaborates with field office leadership, Recruiter Leads, Specialization Leads and Professional Development team to deliver an effective new Recruiter experience and position new recruiters for success. This position can be located in any office within Canada.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Lead and coordinate activities of new Recruiters through onboarding plans, setting proper weekly goals and expectations to stay on track and obtain required skills and knowledge to complete the plan
- Assist new hires in managing time and daily Recruiter responsibilities
- Lead new hires through new recruiter training programs in Degreed and in conjunction with Professional Development expectations prior to new hire attending NRT training
- Schedule and facilitate training shadows, interviews and role-plays during onboarding and live time
- Facilitate training, coaching sessions and role plays to build a foundation of skills and develop talent to maximize recruiter potential and drive results
- Meet training expectations, and hold others accountable to the training standards set forth
- Facilitate ongoing workshops for skill developmen
- Provide developmental feedback, coaching and positive reinforcement to new recruiter cohort and create a culture that encourages feedback for all involved to foster ongoing development
- Work with respective lighthouses (Recruiters Leads / Specialization Leads and Account Managers) in the field offices to ensure recruiting fundamentals are being effectively reinforced after the initial 6 weeks of training, as well as introduce specialized technology training
- Conduct trainees’ reviews in conjunction with their respective lighthouses at the end of 13 weeks to ensure training has been successfully completed
- Partner with other Onboarding Coaches to share best practices around the training process
- Work with Professional Development to coach an NRT class once per quarter
- Stay current and relevant with critical industry and technology trends through ongoing learning
Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, communications, business or related area preferred; combination of high school diploma/GED and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree, at a minimum.
- Minimum of one year of industry experience with demonstrated success as a recruiter, hitting road to contest milestones
- Ability to collaborate virtually across functions, leadership and teams on a continuous basis, and can build a strong rapport with various roles throughout the organization
- Able to hold others accountable to training standards and does not shy away from healthy conflic
- Is resourceful, agile and able to navigate through a highly matrixed work environment to achieve optimal business outcomes, and can pivot to changing timelines or competing interests/initiatives
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of new recruiter training content and expectations in Degreed, including continuous learning content, and has a strong understanding of the delivery business
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as solid facilitation skills
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- Must complete a train the trainer badge/credential to be certified to lead new hires through training
- Is passionate about facilitating and takes an active role in developing self and others
- Strong proficiency in recruiting tools such as Connected, MS Teams, and LinkedIn, as well as proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note, etc.)
Compensation: Current compensation potential bonus up to $750 per new hire
