Role Description :

The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for providing logistics, installation, and maintenance support for contract equipment across company data centers and co-location facilities. This role involves on-site support as well as dispatch services to maintain optimal service performance and availability. The engineer will work closely with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of data center infrastructure, focusing on server deployment, network connectivity, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role also includes the responsibility of managing critical data center functions, such as capacity planning, migration, upgrades, and security audits.

Key Responsibilities :

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues within the data center.
• Implement and maintain server and network infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize data center performance and capacity.
• Plan and execute data center migrations and upgrades.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for data center equipment and services.
• Conduct regular security audits and implement security measures to safeguard data center assets.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data center services.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the data center competitive and efficient.
• Install and configure new servers, storage devices, routers, switches, and other network components to ensure proper connectivity.
• Provide technical support for data center applications and operating systems.
• Monitor and optimize energy usage across the data center.
• Manage and report the health of core infrastructure facilities.
• Provide hands-on support where needed.
• Coordinate activities related to hardware decommissioning, rack moves, and service migrations across various data centers.
