Embedded Engineer Onsite (Waukesha, WI) Local Candidates Preferred

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Engineer with expertise in VxWorks development for embedded processors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in firmware and software development, specializing in low-level systems programming, diagnostics, and system monitoring. This role involves working with advanced embedded technologies to develop and test mission-critical systems in medical, industrial, and automation applications .

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Education : Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience : 7-10 years of hands-on experience in embedded design and development , with a strong background in low-level firmware and RTOS programming .
• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded medical devices, industrial automation, or instrumentation systems (strongly preferred).
• Expertise in VxWorks , focusing on RTOS programming, interrupt handling, and multi-threaded applications .
• Advanced proficiency in U-Boot , including bootloader customization, memory tests, and hardware diagnostics .
• Strong programming skills in C / C , with deep knowledge of bare-metal systems, low-level hardware interaction, and memory management .
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and test frameworks in embedded systems.
• Familiarity with Code-Studio, GitLab, and Artifactory for version control, CI / CD, and artifact management.
• Experience using Docker for containerized embedded development environments .
• Understanding of SOUP analysis and compliance with safety-critical software standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C ).
• Strong documentation skills, including writing and maintaining SDLC and SDLA documentation for regulated environments.
