As an Estimator – OSP Fiber Construction, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate estimates for fiber and coax construction projects.
Our client is a fiber-focused telecom construction firm, and the focus of this role is creating detailed bid proposals for potential clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed and comprehensive pricing estimates for construction projects focusing on fiber and coax telecom installation work, including materials, equipment and labor (employee and subcontractor) costs.
- Data Analysis: Using sources like specs and blueprints, compile and organize data used for the preparation of accurate cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Cross-Department Communication: Work alongside and collaborate frequently with all relevant stakeholders: project managers, engineers, clients, etc.
- Cost Management: Use historical data and current cost databases/estimating software to determine market pricing for equipment, materials and services required for project estimation.
- Client Interaction: Communicate extensively with clients, negotiate pricing, go over likely timeline and ensure client is comfortable with work to be performed.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records covering all of the above - estimates, pricing, communication, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field preferred, or commensurate amount of experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction estimating bid preparation, especially aerial and buried telecom construction.
- Experience with any estimating and engineering software platforms, as well as Microsoft Office programs.
