Job Description
TekFive has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer I. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Network Engineer I will be positioned in the AEGIS HOSC Networking Group at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Design, engineering, configuration, testing, and documentation of HOSC network architectures in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol environment.
Implement network changes such as router and switch configurations requested by customers.
Support Daily Operations and support customer Troubles Calls and issues.
Support HOSC Operations during high visibility or critical activities.
Monitor systems health and status using available tools and techniques.
Qualifications Required Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Basic working knowledge of routed data protocols and hardware platforms.
General understanding of network architectures.
Ability to multi-task between multiple ongoing projects in order to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
Desired Skills: Knowledge of and experience using CISCO routers and switches as well as network CheckPoint firewalls.
Required Education/Experience: Associates degree (AS) in a related field and 2 years of related experience or High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience.
Clearance: Must be able to attain a Public Trust Clearance.
