Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Administrator to manage and maintain our mainframe systems. This role involves ensuring the availability, security, and optimal performance of mainframe environments. The administrator will work closely with IT teams and other stakeholders to provide support for critical applications and resolve technical issues.Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a mainframe administrator or in a similar systems administration role.
- Skills:
- Proficient with IBM z/OS, z/VM, and other mainframe operating systems.
- Strong understanding of JCL (Job Control Language), COBOL, and other mainframe programming languages.
- Knowledge of mainframe hardware, including IBM mainframes, storage systems, and peripherals.
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as Tivoli Workload Scheduler or similar.
- Familiarity with mainframe database systems (e.g., DB2, IMS).
- Expertise in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
