The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the materials management team, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting production schedules, and driving process improvements within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of material handlers and inventory staff.
- Manage inventory control processes, including cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to maintain required inventory.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure materials availability.
- Implement and maintain 5S and lean manufacturing principles in materials handling.
- Maintain accurate records of materials transactions in ERP systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Train and develop team members to ensure high performance and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in materials management, warehouse supervision, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $31.00 - $32.50 per hour
