Contract: 12 months contract
Job Description:
- Looking for a GIS Mapping, work, and Asset Management Analyst/Specialist
Job Summary: Daily tasks would include but are not limited to communication with the territory engineer to map, post, and complete field operations assignments and data into the field operations mapping databases. Act as liaison between field operations and other functional groups to provide cross-functional support for GIS development and mapping needs. Lead development and integration of existing and new GIS systems and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage & maintain a digital library of geographical data and provide expertise, support, and assistance to various functional groups within the organization.
- Support the integration of existing and new GIS, work, and asset management systems and tools.
- Assist in managing outside plant records in mapping systems. This includes design, drawings, CAD, as-builts, and work orders.
- Become proficient in understanding electric utility infrastructure construction and design to facilitate record and database enhancements.
- Knowledgeable in outside plant engineering practices and the electric utility industry.
- Quantitative ability and knowledge of computer programming (i.e. Python), cartography, and data analysis.

- Preferred Previous training experience. GIS certification. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with multiple mapping systems, QGIS, ArcGIS, M4, MapKit-Elations, Google Earth, Microsoft Excel, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of GIS, work, and asset management experience with a preference for experience in the electric industry.
