What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laminator Operator (2nd Shift) position at TekniPlex?
JOB SUMMARY
To adhesive laminate two or more substrates together that provides the customer with a quality product in a timely manner, and in doing so, with the least amount of scrap as possible.
Shift hours: 2:45pm-11:00pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load and unload material on rewind machines. -Put correct amount of yards in In-Process roll.
- Check cut widths at shift change and changeovers.
- Properly flag defective material.
- Change adhesive drums.
- Stack empty skids and discard raw material packing.
- All additional tasks required to maintain the machine and produce finished goods.
- Complete daily reporting/paperwork: Job Reports, daily production, job ticket, and material usage.
- Verify order numbers, tickets numbers, and materials from production order
- Inspect machine and product to ensure quality product
- Conduct changeovers, including return raw materialsn changing rubber rolls, cylinders, doctor blades, and knives; and breakdown and install raw material.
- Timely communication with departments, such as Machine Shop, Material Handlers, QA, and shift crew
- Maintain a clean work area; following GMP
- Adhere to all safety regulations (including PPE standards)
- The Company maintains the right to revise and/or add duties in response to business requirements.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful Completion of Reading & Math Test.
- Successful Completion of IVO certification training. ( Industrial Vehicle Operator )
- Successful Completion of JSA reading. ( Job Safety and Health Analysis)
- Successful Completion of GMP ( Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Qualified Laminator Operator for at least one year.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs
- Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, crouching
- Working in heat up to 100 degrees depending on season (all work performed indoors)
- Cleaning parts daily using solvents wearing appropriate PPE
- Working with hands using common hand tools for tightening and loosening bolts
