What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance III - 3rd Shift position at TekniPlex?
This position calls for an individual who can multi-task, overcome challenges and implement the solution. This individual must be capable of performing all employee tasks and other duties as required and assigned. Tekni-Plex is willing to train the right individual that possesses Industrial Maintenance Experience or Education.
Tekni-Plex also offers a Cost Share Program for individuals to enroll in classes to further their knowledge in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Must be able to pass all requirements to become an “Electrically Authorized” employee in accordance with NFPA 70E and company Electrical Safety Program, to perform proper LOTO Procedures.
- Setup, troubleshoot and repair of electrical control circuits, VFD’s, instrumentation on equipment using appropriate documentation, schematics, and test equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Enter detailed and accurate maintenance reports on PM’s and Work Orders in the CMMS software and the use of other basic computer skills including reading and responding to email.
- Good communication skills.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Follow and actively participate in all established policies, procedures and recognized practices - safety (OSHA), health, quality and GMP.
- Assist and train other Team Members in electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- May also include fabricating parts, operating machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, etc.
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
- Minimum high school education or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial electrical and/or mechanical experience.
- Must have good mechanical maintenance and trouble shooting skills including working with pneumatics and fluid power systems.
- Knowledgeable in working with and installing belt drives, gearboxes, and electro-mechanical / pneumatics clutch assemblies.
- Ability to work at heights and operate forklifts, scissor lifts and aerial work platforms.
Language Skills
Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to complete Work orders and PM’s. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
Mathematics Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percentages to practical situations. Ability to read meters, schematic diagrams, measuring instruments and basic computer skills.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
