What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator I (BW) position at TekniPlex?
Summary
To create a wax coated substrate which is further processed to create a quality lidding material for the customer in a timely manner, and in doing so, with the least amount of scrap as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
1) Read/follow written process instructions for all products produce on machine
2) Obtain work order for scheduled item and request materials from forklift driver
3) Verify that proper materials have been received to the machine
4) Helps making compounds when ended
5) Properly set air pressure, brake tension, temperature dials, buttons, and gauges to start and operate machine according to the parameters of the work order.
6) Assemble/Disassemble Slot Die Head
7) Adjust Slot die Blocks
8) Adjust angle of the slot die head
9) Set-ups raw material rolls on the machines.
10) Makes sure machine is threaded properly to the work order
11) Obtain correct weights and get okay from QA to start processing
12) Visually inspects the material and adhesive during the coating process for defects.
13) Monitor equipment and process output.
14) Makes sure that all proper tests are being done and our meeting specification
15) Completes production paperwork and enters information into operating system
16) Trains new operators in all operations in running machine and making compounds
17) Troubleshoots operating problems or material speciation’s
18) Responsible to make sure housekeeping is being done and area is clean at the end of every shift
19) Make sure next shift is set up to succeed with all items at the machine and ready to go.
Working Conditions
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Shifts vary from 12 hours to 8 hours and may be altered depending on the demands of the business and the need to service customers adequately
Qualifications
Must have achieved qualification as an Assistant Machine Operator or Machine Operator on either a laminator or extrusion machine.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to push or pull carts, move materials and or equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be able to reach and or bend to make machine adjustments or modifications. Must be able to insert shafts into rolls weighing 40 to 60 pounds for loading and unloading of machine.
