This Warehouse supervisor will support a 24/7 manufacturing plant. Experience working in and/or supporting a Manufacturing Plant is Preferred.
Following company Safety Philosophy, this position is responsible for the materials management function relating to procurement, storage, control, issuing, shipping, receiving and distribution of materials, products, supplies, tools, equipment, in warehouse to meet Company objectives and customer requirements. This involves the responsibility of directing and administering some or all the following functions: Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, and Warehouse.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrates, directs, and enforces the development of and adherence to SAFETY practices and procedures in the plant and warehouse areas.
• Plans layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering warehouse capacity, product movement, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. Manages the shipping and receiving functions of the Plant and oversees the storage of all supplies, WIP and finish goods throughout the materials flow to ensure accuracy.
• Determines shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules arranging transportation that optimizes service and cost.
• Facilitate and maintain strong channels of communication with customer service, scheduling, production and purchasing and facilitate any necessary follow-up to ensure smooth movement of goods.
• Ensures proper customer contact relating to their requirements, i.e. requests, inventories, deliveries. Works closely with Planning, Sales, and Customer Service with respect to shipments and on time deliveries.
• Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department, ensures materials are staged for counting and inspections; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
• Monitors the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry.
• Directly oversees and coordinates the taking and valuing of cycle counts and year end physical inventory. Participate and/or facilitate inventory reconciliation.
• Develops and utilizes reports to analyze warehouse data and initiate resolution of any irregularities. Propose, develop, and execute improvement plans based on data analysis and cost-efficiency.
• Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the Warehouse and Receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interview and recommend applicants for hire as Warehouse and Receiving employees. Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of Warehouse employees; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations. Counsel, records, and disciplines as necessary. Develops Department Leads to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew.
• Responsible control of the budget and expenses.
• Design cost reduction strategies by optimizing logistic processes safeguarding operation and customer satisfaction.
• Support additional activities assigned by supervisor related to this position/department.
Describe the experience required:
• Equivalent combination of education and experience of 5 years.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in plastics processing or similar Manufacturing environment require with a minimum of 1 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams.
• Superior problem solving and solid analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)
• Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to align and work with cross functional peers and teams.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload. Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
• Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions.
• Advance proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
• Thorough understanding of inventory management, shipping &receiving processes and manufacturing capabilities.

• Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
