Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a high-volume industrial/manufacturing environment.
- PLC Programming & Troubleshooting: Proficiency in Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and HMI/GUI systems.
- Software Tools: Advanced knowledge of RSLOGIX5000, Logix Designer, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk SE, Ignition, and Cognex.
- System Design: Experience designing fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery mechanisms.
- Drives & Servo Systems: Expertise in setting up and troubleshooting Allen Bradley Power-Flex variable frequency drives (VFDs) and Kinetix multi-axis servo drives.
- Networking: Understanding of factory LAN/WAN Ethernet networks, including IP configuration for devices.
- Fieldbus Networks: ProfiNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, and safety-rated fieldbus networks.
- RFID Systems: Knowledge of radio frequency identification components (receiver, antenna, puck, reader).
- PID Tuning & Feedback Loops: Proficiency in tuning and troubleshooting closed feedback loops.
- Serial Communication: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ProfiBus, Modbus RTU, Data Highway between PLCs and microcontrollers.
- Ethernet Communications: Between PLCs and embedded data collection systems.
- Component Selection: Expertise in selecting circuit protectors, wires, cables, sensors, safety hardware, remote I/O, and VFDs.
- Medical Device Industry Experience: Prior experience with equipment engineering in the medical device industry is a plus.
- Vision Systems: Familiarity with Cognex, Keyence, and Fanuc vision systems is highly desirable.
- Beckman or B&R (ABB) PLCs: Experience programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
