We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer with extensive experience in Mastercam to join the aerospace team at our client's precision manufacturing operation. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and efficiency of machining processes, supporting machinists, and collaborating with engineering teams to meet aerospace industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program CNC machines using Mastercam with precision and efficiency.
- Understand and edit G&M codes to optimize machine operations.
- Select appropriate feeds and speeds based on material, tooling, and machining requirements.
- Assist machinists with troubleshooting and optimizing setups.
- Interpret engineering documentation, including GD&T, sketches, customer drawings, and heat treatment documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering to develop efficient part-processing strategies, including work-holding and order of operations.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting tasks.
- Leverage SolidWorks to model tooling, check clearances, and extract models for Mastercam programming.
- Work with exotic materials and complex geometries, particularly in aerospace applications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of turning tools and their applications.
- Experience with aerospace gear turning is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with operating CNC machines is a plus.
- Hands-on shop experience and expertise in feed and speed selection.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with machinists and engineering teams.
- Previous experience with exotic materials is highly desirable.
