TekPro Engineering is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer with direct experience designing Railroad Construction Equipment immediately! This is a direct hire permanent position that is looking to be very competitive with pay.
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for railroad construction and maintenance equipment
- Create and revise 3D models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
- Conduct engineering analysis (stress, fatigue, FEA, etc.) to ensure designs meet structural and safety requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and serviceable
- Participate in prototype assembly, field testing, and design validation
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives in existing designs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company design practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 2 years specifically in railroad construction equipment or related heavy equipment
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, structural steel design, and weldments
- Experience with GD&T, FEA, and engineering change processes
- Familiarity with ANSI, AAR, and other relevant industry standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
