Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our automotive dealership in Suitland, MD. The CFO will manage financial planning, reporting, analysis, and ensure compliance with financial regulations across the business, including real estate and ancillary companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial reporting, accounting practices, and business operations.
- Communicate with ownership, management, and departments (Sales, Finance, Fixed Operations).
- Lead and mentor a team of controllers and accounting staff.
- Implement cost controls and financial efficiencies.
- Maintain financial records, accounting controls, and minimize risks.
- Work with external CPA firms for GAAP compliance and tax filings.
- Manage tax payments, legal compliance, and banking relationships.
- Oversee payroll, insurance, and vendor communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field (required).
- CPA or CFA certification preferred.
- Public accounting experience with automotive clients is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in the automotive industry, ideally in a CFO or Controller role within a multi-point family operation or a large automotive group.
- Strong financial planning and analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial reporting and accounting practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial processes.
