Essential Functions
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers and stakeholders within our Business Segment.
Gather intelligence through customer interaction and market analysis to identify strategic new business opportunities.
Prepare consolidated business development capture plans and pursuit briefings in support of new business acquisitions according to company capture and proposal policies.
Proactively work with external customers and internal stakeholders across departments and business segments to execute structured and planned business development and capture initiatives.
Develop and deliver customer presentations that communicate recommended solutions to address requirements. Develop presentations and white papers that communicate growth strategies and plans for legacy to senior management.
Coordinate customer visits, internal meetings and web-based conferences in support of new business development.
Perform research activities in support of new business development, capture strategy, and proposal development.
Maintain the business development CRM database for all active new business leads, opportunities and pursuits.
Leading capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts or task order business.
Developing capture strategy and tactics including a business solution for the pursuit of opportunities with a solid business case and ROI.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises lower-level business development and marketing employees. Supervisory duties may include the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining of employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Oversee the daily tasking with subordinates in the program and perform performance evaluations of staff annually.
Skills Required
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Military, Business Development / Marketing or related roles with a strong DoD background.
Experience in the use of a CRM like Salesforce.
DoD Secret Clearance at minimum.
FAR expertise.
Demonstration of the necessary personality and leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Teammates, Consultants and Subcontractors.
Exceptional facilitation and organization skills. Strong time management skills and ability to manage overlapping projects.
Candidates must have demonstrated professional management and customer stakeholder communication skills and experience.
Self-Starter with excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
Team player who is results oriented; winner mentality.
Demonstrated experience in effective and successful negotiations.
Former Military desirable.
4 year / Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
US citizenship required.
25%-50% Domestic and International travel required.
Travel
Travel throughout the United States and locations outside of the United States may be required.
