Job Responsibilities
- Leads and directs the setup team to provide daily support of production, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve department goals. On occasion, perform setups as needed.
- Successfully contributes to both new product development teams and product support.
- Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
- Manages the design, procurement, and fabrication of equipment tooling and fixtures.
- Performs troubleshooting on new and existing products / process problems as related to design, materials, or processes.
- Measure, monitor and continually improve converting equipment set-up productivity.
- Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
- Applies problem solving and process improvement methodologies to improve complex and diverse manufacturing processes across multiple product lines, ensuring root cause of problem is identified and quickly resolved.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferably mechanical
5 10 years of relevant work experience
Highly collaborative, with strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to troubleshoot problems as related to material, equipment, design, and process
High degree of problem-solving capabilities
Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing Experience
