Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of policy rating, rules and forms changes from initial rate approval to launch.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products align with company objectives and comply with state residual market guidelines, regulations and filing requirements.
- Execute the insurance product strategy specific to residual market insurance needs, including new development and enhancements for rating, rules, and policy form creation or changes.
- Conduct market analysis to identify effective use of technology and emerging trends to increase rate processing efficiency and time to market of rate changes. This includes all processing systems as well as Excel rating worksheets.
- Collaborate with Actuarial and Underwriting teams and external partners (regulators, boards, and bureaus) to incorporate and lead implementation of any product changes.
- Manage and lead cross-functional teams to implement accurate automated rating functionality.
- Develop operational metrics and monitor product performance to ensure product changes meet organizational financial and operational goals.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, risk management, finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications in Insurance, Statistics, Product Management preferred. CPCU or other insurance designations and / or additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
8 or more years of experience in product management, preferably within the insurance industry or a related financial services sector. Demonstrated experience in commercial insurance and underwriting practices, specifically with strong experience in commercial auto policies, development of rates, filings, and related processes. Experience leading teams and / or management / supervisory experience required.
