We are seeking an eDiscovery specialist. This is a hybrid role required to be on site 3 days a week in Cary, NC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in eDiscovery collection methodologies, with a strong emphasis on forensic imaging, SQL proficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) framework.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for identifying and collecting electronic data, including from cloud platforms, relevant to a particular case or investigation, as well as ensuring that data is properly preserved.
- Conduct forensic imaging of electronic devices and storage media using industry standard tools and techniques, ensuring the preservation and integrity of data.
- Once electronic data has been collected, manage and organize it in a way that allows for efficient review and analysis. This may involve using specialized software to sort and categorize data, as well as creating searchable databases to facilitate data retrieval.
- Responsible for reviewing electronic data in order to identify potentially relevant information.
- Called upon to provide technical support and guidance to members of the legal team or to outside counsel.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards: Will need to be familiar with the legal and ethical standards governing the collection, review, and production of electronic data.
What we’re looking for
- A bachelors’ degree in a relevant field such as information technology, computer science, or a related field and 3-6 years’ experience working in digital forensics, providing technical support to legal teams. A master's degree in Information Technology with a concentration in information security, or computer forensics desired.
- Proficiency in the use of various technologies and software applications related to eDiscovery is necessary, such as document management systems, data analytics tools and electronic review platforms.
- A good understanding of the legal principles and requirements related to eDiscovery is important, including those related to data preservation, admissibility of evidence, and privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical skills are needed to identify relevant information from large volumes of electronic data, and to conduct thorough reviews and analyses of electronic documents and communications. Digital forensic certifications, enterprise cloud forensics experience, SQL experience, or eDiscovery certifications are a plus.
- A keen attention to detail is necessary to ensure that all relevant data is collected and preserved, and to identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies in the data.
