What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Automation Engineer (QA / Test - Cypress) position at TekStream Solutions?
A TekStream client, a leading company in its industry, is looking for a talented Senior Test Automation Engineer (QA) to join their team. This is a remote role with occasional onsite meetings and will start as a contract-to-hire (W2 only / no C2C).
Applicants must currently reside in the Kansas, City, KS area and be eligible for direct-hire without sponsorship now or in the future.
What you’ll be working on…
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts across technology platform
- Support automation test frameworks as needed to improve automation testing efficiency
- Maximize test coverage to ensure support across all critical application components
- Write documentation for automated testing processes
- Integrate functional test automation into continuous integration/deployment processes
- Support production deployment activities
- Log and document bugs in Jira
- Work across Agile teams and QA to drive improved test coverage
What we’re looking for…
- Expert experience with standard programming languages expected, including Java, JavaScript, Python
- Expert-level experience with the Cypress.io test automation tool is required; experience with other test automation tools, including TestComplete, Selenium, TestNG, or others is preferred
- Experience with continuous integration tools, including Jenkins, is expected
- Experience with version control tools Git, SourceTree
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket, is required
- Outstanding collaboration and communication skills with exceptional problem- solving capabilities is expected
- Experience working in various Agile methodologies is required
- Experience with web application development and cloud native concepts, including applications deployed via AWS, is required
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of test automation experience, including with Cypress.io
