Job Title: System Administrator II
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced System Administrator II to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. The ideal candidate will manage IT system infrastructure and related processes, support daily operations, resolve system issues, and enhance system performance and reliability in a secure, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Manage daily activities related to the configuration and operation of IT systems.
- Perform Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Assist users in accessing and utilizing IT systems effectively.
- Monitor and resolve issues for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and other infrastructure.
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems.
- Install and load operating system software; maintain system integrity and configure network components.
- Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Provide ongoing analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers on escalated issues.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization; conduct system capacity planning and analysis.
- Provide support for dispatch systems and remain engaged in hardware and system problem resolution.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional five (5) years of System Administrator experience may be substituted.
Specialized Domain Requirements:
Unless otherwise specified, five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the following is required:
Network Enterprise Management:
- Installation, configuration, and sustainment of Hewlett Packard (HP) tool suite, including HP Network Node Manager and HP Network Automation.
- Familiarity with Oracle as part of HP tool suite integration.
Other Tools:
- Installation, configuration, and sustainment of Riverbed SteelCentral (CASCADE & OPNET) tool suite.
- Preferred experience with:
- SteelCentral AppResponse
- NetCollector
- NetPlanner
