Our customer is seeking an IT Manager/Systems Administrator to join our talented team of engineers and scientists. The preferred candidate will have extensive experience in information technology, with an emphasis on systems administration, IT Operations, end-user support, and enterprise IT infrastructures spanning on-premises, public and private cloud environments. They will help determine and implement the IT needs and systems of the organization, ensuring efficiency, performance, safety, and security. The candidate will also provide IT guidance and vision for all stakeholders at customer, both for internal and external partners.

Manage a team of systems administrators, IT support personnel, contractors and 3rd party service providers.
Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
Work as escalation resource for helpdesk team, supporting to resolve critical tickets
Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
Administer and oversee on-premises Active Directory, VMWare, Windows and Linux infrastructure
Create key performance indicators and metrics reports for management
Perform regular preventative maintenance and upgrades to systems
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
Ensure security and segmentation of data, network access and backup systems
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
Identify problematic areas in relation to IT needs and implement timely, strategic solutions
Triage and troubleshoot complex problems and determine effective problem resolutions
Audit systems and assess their security posture, patch level, firmware and outcomes
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
Work with IT leaders to establish annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
Oversee the implementation of new technology within the organization
Coordinate and automate server hardware and OS build standards including server builds, server images, hardening, and software (applications & tools) installations
Participate and coordinate with vendors and consultants and communicate with management
Maintain a predictable and regular work schedule, communicating with leadership and the IT department for any expected gaps in service
Experience with MDM technologies such as Intune, Workspace ONE, MDT/SCCM, and Jamf
Experience with VMWare vCenter, ESXi, and VMware-related products
Comfortable administering and working with Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible technology stacks
Proficiency with T-SQL based systems such as MSSQL, MySQL, and Postgres
Experience with hosted email solutions such as Google Workspace or Exchange Online
Ability to script in PowerShell, Bash, Python and other related languages
Operational knowledge of SCADA and MES systems
Understanding of network segmentation, VLANs, and firewall-based policies to restrict traffic
Familiarity with NG AV technology and ZTNA systems
Azure or other cloud-related experience in AWS or Google Cloud Platform
Background in enterprise communication platforms such as Teams, Slack, or related software suites
Familiarity with manufacturing or manufacturing-related business processes
Experience with Cisco and Cisco-related network technologies
Knowledge of and support of Teams or Zoom-based conference room equipment
Out-of-band (occasional nights, weekends) support for updating critical IT infrastructure components
On-call support for emergency issues
Education and Experience:
Industry-recognized certifications in security, Microsoft, Linux, and/or cloud services preferred
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Associate's, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for additional years of experience.
Related certifications may count towards years of related experience.
Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education and US Department of Education

Ability to user a computer and other office equipment
