The Jr. Desktop Support Technician is the go-to person for IT support, handling both basic and intermediate technical issues. This includes support for hardware, software, printers, connectivity, mobile devices, and Point of Sale (POS) systems. The goal is to ensure a smooth computing experience for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support for PC hardware and software, including Windows 11, Office 365, and other applications.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer operating systems and images.
- Troubleshoot and install peripherals like printers and smartphones.
- Work outside of normal business hours when needed (nights and weekends).
- Ask relevant questions to gather information for resolving issues.
- Document and track incidents and requests in a ticketing system.
- Set expectations and ensure timely execution of requests.
- Prioritize and escalate support incidents based on business impact.
- Assist in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Maintenance and support for workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Understanding of Client/Server environments and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Proficiency in supporting Microsoft products, including Windows and Office.
- Analytical problem-solving approach.
- Basic understanding of POS systems.
Education/Experience:
- 6 months of IT Support experience, preferably supporting hardware and software.
- A certifications or relevant higher education in IT is preferred.
