Job Description:
The Middleware Engineer will lead end-to-end and administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives.
Ensures production stability, platform remediation, patching and upgrades, mitigating and managing risk.
Middleware engineering and administration includes middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation and remediation, performance tuning and troubleshooting/triage as L3 production support.
Collaborates with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on daily basis providing middleware advice, consultation, and support.
Creates, maintains, and supports the application deployment templates, serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development.
Designing Middleware infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability.
All solutions must meet all Policy, Baseline, and Standards along with business requirements.
Providing technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas;
Communicating with business partners at an enterprise level;
Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC);
Executing production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3 - 5 years of experience in design and engineering solutions for large business capabilities
3 or more years of experience as a Windows Middleware Engineer
Experience with 1 or more of the following Middleware products: .NET Framework, IIS, Appian, Software AG WEB METHODS Linux Operating System, Windows Operating System Java/Container Framework experience
Experience with one of the following scripting languages: Python, shell, powershell, jython, perl
Effective Communication - Clear, Concise and the ability to articulate ideas
Should be able to lead and actively participate in conference calls with technical and business users
Flexible to work in different shifts, including rotational night shift and weekend support
Experience in Application Lifecycle Management Automation tools and integration using one or more of the following tools: Ansible by Red Hat, Jenkins or XLR
Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA, NEXUS and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile)
Candidate must be self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, able to work with little supervision and a responsible team-player
Working knowledge of application setup, support, and configuration
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
