What are the responsibilities and job description for the Active Directory Engineer position at TEKsystems?
TEKsystems has a client that is looking for an Active Directory SME to help them drive governance, compliance, and create M&A playbooks.
Please note, since this is a mid-sized environment it is rather common for this team to pick up additional responsibilities and wear multiple hats.
*Responsibilities:*
*Be able to Design, implement, and manage Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including domain controllers, DNS, and Group Policy.
*Monitor and maintain AD health, performance, and security.
*Perform regular AD audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards. Implement changes based on third party audit findings.
*Troubleshoot and resolve AD-related issues and provide technical support to end-users.
*Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate AD with various applications and services.
*Plan and execute AD migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery procedures.
*Develop and maintain documentation for AD configurations, processes, and procedures.
*Group Policy Management: Consolidate and review Group Policies across the organization to streamline and enhance policy management.
*Organizational Unit Restructuring: Review and support the restructuring of Organizational Units (OUs) to enable effective group policies.
*Access Control Lists (ACLs) Management: Review and modify Access Control Lists within Active Directory to enhance security and ensure proper access controls.
*Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
*Qualifications:*
*5 years of experience in Active Directory administration and engineering.
*Strong knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related technologies.
*Experience with AD migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
*Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
*Familiarity with identity management solutions and security best practices.
*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*Experience with Azure Active Directory and hybrid environments.
*Knowledge of other identity management solutions (e.g., Okta, LDAP).
