What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cell Site Technician position at TEKsystems?
We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of a Cell Site Network Field Operations Technician. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform routine grounds inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair of cell site network hardware. This includes base stations, microwaves, tower lighting systems, battery backup systems, antenna systems, and Ethernet and T1 facilities. Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications technologies, test equipment, and software applications is essential.
A successful Cell Site Field Operations Technician will be able to integrate and repair cell site network hardware with minimal oversight. The technician must possess a good working knowledge of applicable telecommunications technologies, TCP/IP strategies, and test equipment such as digital multi-meters, antenna and line sweep gear, and spectrum analyzers. Additionally, the technician should have experience with specialized software applications specific to the job responsibilities.
This position involves close collaboration with the NOCC and other departments to operate and maintain the fiber and wireless networks. The Field Operations Technician will also be responsible for scheduling all maintenance and service impacting work with the NOCC, as well as resolving degradations in voice or data performance to meet dropped calls, blocked calls, data throughput, and availability benchmarks.
