What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cyber Security Manager position at TEKsystems?
Our TEKsystem's client is looking for a Manager of Cybersecurity team that will report directly to the VP if IT and will be responsible for helping define their security strategy. This person will be managing a team of 3 people and eventually a team of 4 once they fill the last there is one opening for an associate level analyst position. The Manager of IS and Cyber Security will maintain and oversee strategy, architecture, policies and programs to ensure information and biomedical assets are protected, while maintaining an understanding of the challenges facing healthcare providers. Ensure IS systems are secure and comply with external regulatory and legislative requirements. Develops and implements information security initiatives; and creates an information privacy and security-conscious culture.
We really need a manager who is a good manager and cyber security expert. The current team is very green and there is really no one with a strong cyber back ground on the team. The three people on the team are responsible for responding to alerts from their third-party 24 / 7 monitoring tool, Avertium. They are also maintaining the configuration of their technologies. They currently uses Crowdstrike, enping, z-scaler, and mimecast but are not stuck on keeping those tools forever and is open to changing technologies. Our client is less concerned about tools and technologies and would rather find a candidate who has 3-5 years of experience in cyber security and management. The previous manager brought in their current tools, configured them, and understood everything but the current team is still learning.
Communication and professionalism are very important as the Manager of Cyber Security will also be responsible for briefing the IT Committee and board members once a quarter.
Healthcare experience preferred.
CISSP preferred.
Bachelors Degree required.
Salary : Up to $140k
Additional Responsibilities :
Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of a strong information security program and infrastructure including network access and monitoring policies to include identification, protection, detection, response and recovery
Manages the activities of information systems cyber security department
Provides management oversight to department
Participates as a member of the IS leadership team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
Practices with legal, ethical, and professional boundaries
Manages the finances, contracts and budget of the I / S and Cyber Security Department
Manages the cyber security team and associated cyber security activities
Responsible for financial performance of the cyber security department
Recommends additional functionality and tools that will improve the cyber security posture of the organization and minimize risks
Utilizes general industry knowledge and professional experience in the application of concepts, technical capabilities, interactions with other aspects of information systems and leadership experience to perform varied tasks
Represents defined functions and duties as a member of the IS Sr. leadership team
Interacts at all levels and all areas of the organization as it relates to cyber security activities

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $68.00 / hr.
