What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at TEKsystems?
TEKsystems is hiring for an IT Support Specialist to provide level 1 & 2 support. This position is fully onsite in Elkhorn, WI.
*Description*
* Set up and install personal computers, printers, monitors, and other desktop or mobile computing equipment and software.
* Participate in the Help Desk rotation, providing Tier 1 support for user inquiries and resolving technical issues.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment, software, and Desktop LAN problems to find effective solutions.
* Resolve computing equipment and software issues for client desktops and laptops.
* Assist with network and server maintenance in a multi-protocol environment, collaborating with IT Specialist II and the Network Operations team.
* Perform preventative maintenance and general tasks to support the desktop environment.
* Conduct intermediate equipment and software upgrades.
* Manage equipment and software inventories and update relevant databases. Assist in maintaining site documentation.
* Evaluate business problems and research new technology as directed by senior staff. Provide input on clients' equipment and software needs.
* Troubleshoot telephone system issues, replace defective equipment, or report problems to the appropriate agency for repair.
* Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:*
* Associate's degree in an Information Technology-related field with one to two years of relevant experience required
* At least one year of experience with Microsoft operating systems and Intel-based hardware
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
* Strong interpersonal and customer support skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.50/hr.
