Overview :
TEKsystems is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Telecommunications Drop Technicians in Maui, Hawaii. This role is true entry level, we are looking for candidates interested in finding a long-term career with huge opportunity in Hawaii right now. Candidates will gain hands-on experience in the Telecom trade, working with fiber, cat5, and cat6 cables. Responsibilities include carrying heavy equipment, splicing fiber optic cables, performing routine maintenance, and responding to emergency situations. Ideal candidates are reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities :
- Gain hands-on experience in the Telecom trade (Layer 1 fiber / cat5 / cat6).
- Carry equipment and tools weighing 50 lbs or more.
- Splice fiber optic cables, construct splice cases, and perform routine maintenance.
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation.
- Respond to emergency and outage situations requiring heavy construction capabilities.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation.
