Position Requirements
This position is for a Virtualization Engineer. The Solution is a Flexpod solution supported vSphere and ESXI with Cisco UCS and Cisco X-Series blades with a mix of storage from NetApp and Pure. The solution is a hyperconverged, multitenant private cloud hosting environment for hosting Army enterprise and tactical applications. It's utilizing the full suite of VMware products (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation, Tanzu) to implement a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) across multiple global sites. Provide value added common and managed services built on top of the VMware foundation, that hosted Army applications will require.
*Position Duties:*
*Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the architecture.
*Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the VMware suite of products.
*As applications are hosted on the solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the customer enclaves.
*Provide daily administration of the VMware products to include patching and upgrading of all VMware components.
*Monitor utilization of all virtualization resources and notify the lead when additional resources will be required.
*Harden the VMware products per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls.
*Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any hosting platform issues.
*Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures).
*Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents.
*Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00
