Role: Construction Superintendent - Concrete Construction
Location: Nanuet, NY
Position Overview
As a Concrete Construction Superintendent, you will oversee all field operations for our projects. Reporting directly to senior management, you will ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency. With a team of approximately 15 - 20 union workers, you will manage project schedules, coordinate with other trades, and ensure compliance with both client and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive the successful execution of concrete construction projects valued from $50,000 to $5,000,000, showcasing your expertise in formwork, rebar installation, concrete placement, and finishing techniques.
- Lead and mentor a skilled union workforce of 15 team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and clients, to resolve technical challenges and exceed expectations.
- Implement rigorous quality control processes to maintain our reputation for excellence.
- Champion workplace safety through proactive leadership and strict adherence to OSHA standards.
- Manage project resources, including equipment, materials, and labor, to optimize efficiency and control costs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, safety records, and quality control documentation.
- Address and resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly and effectively through clear communication and decisive action.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of proven experience in concrete construction, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Current OSHA 30 certification
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications
- Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of lean construction principles and methodologies are preferred
- Familiarity with digital construction management tools methodologies are preferred
