Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated Firmware QA Engineering contractor to join our team.
- Use detailed test procedures to validate various hardware and software features to determine functional issues/failures on cutting edge server systems
- Using various internal hardware test tools, internal software utilities or third-party utilities, you will capture and report failures to engineering and debug teams.
- Capture and record results/data into a database and write up detailed description of failures seen.
- Validate automated test cases by tightly following the guidelines and procedures documented in the test cases.
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent training and experience
- Strong background in computer hardware, software, and PC architecture
- PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills, required
- Understanding of server CPU architecture and system BIOS, alongside familiarity with modern interconnects and memory technologies (e.g. PCIe, CXL, DDR), preferred
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Linux experience, preferred
- Ability to apply knowledge and principles of PC architecture to trouble shoot hardware compatibility issues
- Working knowledge/experience with the installation of Linux and Windows operating systems including device drivers
- Comfortable with scripting and/or familiarity with test automation
- Highly self-motivated, capable of working independently, showing initiative, as well as thriving in a team environment
- Excellent in both writing and verbal communication, capable of clearly articulating complex technical issues
- Exceptional problem-solver, displaying critical thinking and analytical skills
- Quick learner with the capability to grasp and apply new, complex technical concepts rapidly
